Anjali & Manauti/Female/Couple/Cast: Name Is Love

Q1: What makes you love yourself?
Anjali: Knowing my own truth and being able to speak about it. I am thankful to my hard times because it made me stronger and made me aware of my own capabilities.

Q2: What does love mean to you?
Anjali: Love to me is to feel comfort not in a place but a person, it is about partnership, companionship and seeking true joy in each other’s presence, company and existence itself.

Manauti: Love to me is care, respect and trust enveloped in the joy of being with the one you love.

Q3: How was your experience shooting for GG?
It was fabulous and filled with excitement. Gaurav and his team are welcoming and warm. We will forever cherish it..

Q4: How did you feel wearing these outfits?

Like we are a making a statement.

Q5: When did you decide to come out? Was the experience challenging?

Anjali: I had the longest crush on Manauti, my sisters and close friends knew about it. But when we started dating, that was the time when I came out to my parents, wouldn’t call it a challenging experience.

Manauti: Coming out was harder in my head than in reality. Decided to come out few years ago when I felt more confident about myself.

Q6: Have you seen a positive change in our society? Or do you feel that we still have a long way to go?

Anjali: The society has definitely changed for good but I feel there is still a long way to go, more people are confident and comfortable talking about themselves.

Manauti: Definitely, the belief that humans are only heterosexuals has changed, and has evolved in accepting different sexualities present in our society. We have come a long way and have a long way to go.

Q7: What are the kind of challenges you faced initially?

We did not face many challenges in terms of our relationship, rather, our friends and family have been of great support, can’t thank them enough but individually being from the LGBTQ community, we have faced resistance based on the belief that the way we are, is not right and it is a phase and will pass.

Q8: How did you guys meet?

We went to the same college.

Q9: Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

In the context of our relationship, we see ourselves having a family and working hard on being good parents.

Q10: Do you have a message you want to send other couples who might be hesitant to come out?

It is a process, allow time to those who matter to you and choose who matters to you, wisely.

Q11: Who has been your biggest inspiration?

Who other than Ellen. Thank you Ellen.
