BTS // ‘Venus Rising’ // Pre-Couture 2021

For Pre-Couture 2021, we delve into the school of purity and mythology. Inspired by the birth of Venus, the cosmic ocean, and the ebb and flow of water- this collection entails signature designs enhanced with ornate details on fluid structures that etch out the intricate femininity of the female form. The story of Venus’s birth is so surreal, we wanted each garment to reflect the magic and to create magnificent outfits that were ethereal, beautiful and yet powerful.

The feat of nature—which  many of us chose to stop-and-admire during the lockdown—also serves as the narrative for our Pre-Couture 2021 couture collection, aptly called ‘Venus Rising’. The colour palette – light & luminescent, is drawn from the ethereal backdrop in a spectrum of soft hues including pearl whites, ecru, prismatic pinks and blues. The capsule collection consists of 25 dramatic silhouettes in the form of gowns with bustles and trains, voluminous lehengas, new concept saree gowns and more.

Shooting a campaign of this magnitude and especially at a time like such was not an easy job. The serene outdoor setting and mood of the campaign is a departure from our otherwise edgy outtakes. I’ve just been following my heart, and want my clothes to reflect my internal mood. So this season is the rise of a tranquil GG, if you may.” Just like a ray of light breaking through any gloomy clouds that eclipse your day.
